March of the Lions (2024)
March of the Lions (commissioned by the Central Christian Academy Band) is a standard march for intermediate band (level 1.5). The introduction and the exciting syncopation in the main theme starts the piece off running. Soon after, the smoother second theme appears. The piece then modulates for the “Trio” section to calm the energy down. Next, the lows powerfully play the “Dogfight” theme in another tonality. Finally, the piece modulates once more to the original key and returns to the first theme for the tutti finale.
