Ice Cream Parlor (2025)
Ice Cream Parlor is a scoop of fun for beginning symphony orchestra! The piece begins with the major main melody, and it is followed by a round built off of it. As the first melody flows into the “B” theme, the dotted rhythm and tonality change. Oh no, it’s a brain freeze! This new minor feeling builds in layers and eventually leads to the original tonality after a small drum break. The lines swell to the grand ending of the piece: the cherry on top!
